Introduction.

The Flexible Packaging Association of Converters of Pakistan was established in December 2013. FLEXPACK is a printing & packaging organization with the purpose to safeguard the interests of the flexible packaging & printing (converter) industry of Pakistan. The founding members of the FLEXPACK include leading renowned companies from all over Pakistan. The aim of the association is non-profit and non-political and to organize for appreciating representation at all over Pakistan for those engaged in flexible packaging & printing (converter) Industry. FLEXPACK association plays a significant role in developing the policy framework for improving the business environment and economic growth for r business. FLEXPACK also aims to develop an institute for training and development for technology up-gradation to common businessmen and maintain standards to minimize the gap between business to business growth and focus on the growth of the flexible packaging printing industry in Pakistan. At the same time, acting as a bridge between private and public sectors to resolve the problems faced by the flexible packaging & printing industry on a priority basis while also promoting the international trade of Pakistani products all over the world. In 2017, The Director General Trade Organisation, Ministry of Commerce Government of Pakistan has licensed to the association and also has been incorporated in The Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan under the Companies Act, 2017. Flexible Packaging Association of Converters of Pakistan affiliated with The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). FLEXPACK, the first Pakistani packaging & printing association is a regular member of the international organization World Packaging Organization (WPO). Between the European Rotogravure Association (ERA) and the Flexible Packaging Association of Converters of Pakistan has also been established cooperation in for future seminars /conferences organized in Pakistan.

The flexible printing & packaging industry of Pakistan is the second-largest packaging industry in South Asia after India. Our Industry is the main backbone of Export Oriented Industries and domestic market sectors, including FMCG, Textile, Agriculture (including Rice, Wheat, Grains, and Atta), Leather, Confectionery, Pharma and Surgical Goods and also includes many other Industries. The Flexible Packaging & Printing industry is the 5th largest industry after the textile sector. Pakistan is the world’s 7th largest consumer market in terms of more than 220 million populations. Pakistan is manufacturing top-quality printing packaging materials and there is great potential for products to be exported worldwide. For the last few years, the packaging industry has significantly grown as recently many new companies have invested in the industry, proving that the said industry is rapidly growing. There are some standards and certifications which are necessary in case of doing business with many international & local buyers. Those standards, the most asked for and globally recognized certifications are, ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001(Environmental Management System), ISO 22000 (Food), Safety Management System and also Halal Food Certification.

To be a world-class trade organization that promotes the growth of the packaging printing (converter) industry and contributing to the national economy while providing outstanding industry representation and services to the members.
